Hi there, my name is Brett Freese!
First of all, I’d like to thank you for taking the time out of your day to visit our blog. I hope that you find tremendous value, and visit us often!
I’ve always been extremely passionate about fishing ever since I could remember. The first time I ever went fishing was with my Dad, probably about 5 or 6 years old. At that time, we had lived in California, and we went out on a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe!
It was a cold winter morning, and we took our small little boat out to the lake right before the sun came up. We came prepared, and determined to catch some Trout on my first try! My dad showed me everything from hooking my first bait, to casting my first line. Although I wasn’t able to catch any fish that particular morning, something special happened.
Through that experience, I learned a lot of important life lessons that shaped me to become the successful person I am today. Values such as patience, awareness, strategy, persistence, and confidence; all acquired from the simple act of fishing. I’ve also developed a strong connection and respect for nature, and all of its inhabitants.
I’m sure for many of you, fishing is a lot more than just catching trout in the early morning. It gives us an opportunity to reflect on life, increase our awareness & skillsets, and also provides a haven from all the chaos that happens from day-to-day living. It’s our home, away from home.
I created FishingOutcast in hopes of helping anglers such as yourself become better at fishing, develop a respect for the lifestyle, and continue to help you live out your passion out in the open waters.
